No one should be telling each other of their sins except directly to the creator. I agree that in telling someone else, it’s as if you have given them that power over you to tell you what you want to hear or to make you feel better about the sin. No human can wipe away the sins of another human except through sincere repentance to God alone. What makes confessing your sins to others different from let’s say going for therapy? End of the day you just state it and still don’t feel total completion or removal of that sin from your heart.
